ABMETRIX is dedicated to developing Digital Antibodies and Digital Antibody Microarray with its Digital Antibody technology (patent pending) that will be one of the best technologies for proteomics.
Today, despite dramatic amount of progresses have been made in biotechnology, only a few technologies are available for proteomics researches, that is, 2-Dimensional Gel Electrophoresis (2DE) with or without Mass Spectrometry (MS) analysis, Yeast Two-Hybrid System and Antibody Microarray. These technologies are either too expensive to get access for the researchers with average level funding (2DE-MS system) or too difficult to study protein expression profile at a genomic scale (Antibody Microarray)
Digital Antibody is a special type of antibody recognizing multiple sets of commonly existing protein epitopes and can be developed through modified hybridoma technology, the most conventional monoclonal antibody technology. Digital Antibody technology will overcome most of the problems in the exiting proteomic technologies described above. In addition, a big advantage of this technology is its ability to detect unknown protein without sequence information. This feature will allow the technology to be used to detect those genetically mutated and altered infectious microbes during a biological warfare. |
